The exhibition
Inside the dome of the Palais de Justice in Brussels, there is a side nobody sees. POELAERT-027 shows it: the back of the dome, where architecture stops being décor and becomes structure. Red beams cross and branch into a network that looks almost alive, graphic and tense, with something close to a pulse.
A spiral stair climbs through it towards the light. The picture hangs in the window as a lightbox, 80 × 120 cm. Long exposure does the rest: Mireille Roobaert does not only document the place, she lets you feel that it is there.
