Fly with Me (Download the App)
Xavier Duffaut (b. 1996, Brussels) is a Belgian multidisciplinary artist. He diverts, transforms or reproduces everyday manufactured objects, and sets pop culture beside art history: the sacred and the profane, the tragic and the grotesque.
Corporate aesthetics, branding and mass media are his terrain, entered like a trickster through staged devices and public space interventions. Solo shows at Michèle Schoonjans Gallery and TREIZE, 2026; SABAM prize, 2024.
The exhibition
In 2021, Xavier Duffaut covered shared Bird scooters in feathers and put them back into circulation, quietly, in camouflage. Passers-by could notice, or not.
Fly with Me (Download the App) is the archive of that action. It takes a brand name at its word: the scooter becomes a bird, half animal, half machine. The warm feather meets the cold surface of technology, and the joke opens onto two questions: the greenwashing of tech start-ups, and the shared fragility of species and machines. It is also a soft, queer way of reclaiming the street.
